Abstract

Technology burst severely into sexuality in many different ways but, most of all, by merging pornography and the Internet. At the current moment, sexuality and pornography are being influenced by the development of artifacts with artificial intelligence, like sex robots. The aim of the article is to present a critical reflection on the relationships between sex robots and pornography. The illusion of male power and the fantasy of objectifying women have shaped one of the main narratives of pornography and have been studied by the feminist theory. I undertake my reflection by traveling through different spaces and cultural expressions that contain pornography and sex robots. To do that, I use a non-participant observation of the discourses within the cyberspace, the cinema and the creation of robots. The findings show that pornography and sex robots emphasize the effect of female subordination and male domination in sexuality.
