The purpose of this work is to review the book of Drª. Carrillo del Teso entitled "Confiscation and recovery of assets in the Spanish criminal system". In this work, fruit of the author's doctoral thesis, issues such as the international and supranational strategy on confiscation, the concept of confiscation, its legal nature, the different forms of confiscation and the autonomous procedure for confiscation are dealt brilliantly. The work ends with a constitutional reading of the institution of the forfeiture, in which the regulation is analyzed in the light of the guarantees and fundamental rights, a guarantee-based perspective that, on the other hand, floods the work as a whole.
