Abstract

The creation of research centres such as the EAT (Experiments in Art and Technology, 1966), encouraged interdisciplinary collaboration between art and science, involving technological companies like Siemens, HP, IBM or Philips, which provided technical and economic support for the development of new systems. This collaboration brought together cultural and scientist disciplines leading to spatial interventions that will have visibility at some World Exhibitions.

The result will be, in most of the cases, the creation of a complete audiovisual experience, assuming the indissolubility of image, sound and space in the creation of immersive environment. Audience location in the middle of the scene and the dynamic disposition of light and sound will create a particular spatial narrative, not linear, conceived for the experience. In this article it is developed, among others, the work performed in the Pepsi Group pavilion at the Osaka World Exhibition (1970).
