The CEIDA (Centre of University Extension and Environmental Divulgation of Galicia) is the point of reference for Environmental Education in Galician society, and has been working since 2001 in spreading and giving value to the Galician natural heritage, and has, as one of its main lines of action the conservation of the marine and coastal environment.
The programme of environmental education and sensitizing entitled “The sea and the coast: valuable resources for all”, aimed at centres of education and social collectives throughout Galicia, has as its main objective the fostering of positive attitudes and favourable behaviour within society towards the conservation of the marine and coastal environment, by means of the knowledg of the natural and cultural values of the coast and the analysis of the environmental problems which threaten it.
