The activity of collecting resin in the national forest of Leiria is a practice that has existed for centuries, with an added importance at the beginning of its exploration, being its first references of the 10th century, in Leiria, with the obtaining of pitch (raw pitch) ) and pitch (pitch-black). Pitch was used in caulking vessels and hence its particular importance (Pinto, 1938). The theme of resin and its importance in the context of Environmental Education and in a perspective of sustainability, is little explored in the context of pre-school. If we consider that one of the goals of EA is the destiny of future generations, it made perfect sense to value the questions posed by preschool children regarding the resin theme.
