Los Caminos de Santiago, como gran ruta de peregrinación, y el turismo en general, experimentan una gran visibilidad de causalidad multifactorial durante las últimas décadas y están presenten en numerosos territorios europeos y en otras latitudes atravesados por diferentes itinerarios. En este contexto, en este monográfico se pueden consultar investigaciones que avanzan en el conocimiento acerca de las relaciones que se establecen entre las comunidades locales y el fenómeno de las peregrinaciones y el turismo.

Tourism and gentrification in the contemporary city
This issue has, in addition to articles of diverse subject matter, a monographic part entitled "Tourism and gentrification in the contemporary city".
The monograph is coordinated by Estefanía Calo, Raimundo Otero and Alberto Rodríguez Barcón (Universidade da Coruña). It presents a set of articles focused on the relationship between tourism and gentrification in the contemporary city, and it provides a vision of the impact of urban policy on historic neighborhoods, tourism governance and a sustainable tourism model based on the local community, the impact on the identity of the local community and, finally, an analysis of the strategies implemented in order to strengthen the tourist uses of the city.
