La poesía como medio para la ética del cuidado y la convivialidad

Este artículo propone la incorporación de modelos deontológicos creados desde la ética del cuidado para poner la poesía al servicio de la sociedad. En él se plantea y demuestra cómo la poesía puede servir como objeto en sí misma, pero también como instrumento de investigación para promover nuevas formas de convivencia, con el objetivo de ayudar a reconectar y fortalecer el tejido social de nuestras sociedades multiculturales, sistemáticamente acosadas por prejuicios y discriminación en sus diversas manifestaciones y, en última instancia, por la desigualdad. Así, el texto, de carácter esencialmente descriptivo, comienza con una revisión de los postulados de la ética del cuidado y del concepto de convivialidad, dos paradigmas teóricos que en los últimos años han ganado reconocimiento en las ciencias sociales y humanas, proponiendo el uso de ambos marcos y sus distintas implicaciones en relación con el tratamiento de la diversidad en sociedades multiculturales, promoviendo la poesía como elemento cohesionador. Atendiendo a lo que Hanauer (2003) denominó como los “momentos únicos” propiciados por la poesía, el artículo concluye con la incorporación de varios ejemplos del género que pueden utilizarse para nuestro propósito —la promoción de una ética del cuidado y de la convivialidad—, así como algunas sugerencias para la práctica en el aula o en el trabajo con grupos. Seleccionadas desde diversas antologías y colecciones, las muestras son deliberadamente diversas, abordando varios temas que, según sostenemos, merecen una atención urgente en las sociedades multiculturales contemporáneas.
