Abstract

The motivational climate towards sport, represents one of the main psychosocial factors most studied in the educational field of Physical Education and sports practice, through the theory of achievement goals and self-determination, as depending on the type of orientation, the teaching-learning process and healthy lifestyles can be constituted. This study conducted in the eight provinces of Andalusia for a sample of 775 university students (future teachers) who attend the mention of Physical Education in the degree of Primary Education, aims to define the perceived motivational climate towards sport, as well as establish the Main differences according to sex. As an assessment instrument, the PMCSQ-2 questionnaire and an ad-hoc questionnaire were used to record variables of a socio-demographic nature. Statistically significant differences were reported for the two dimensions of the motivational climate according to the sex of the study subjects, where it was determined that both in the task climate and in the ego, the male students showed higher values. Emphasis is placed on the importance of Physical Education teachers when promoting a motivational climate model in the class group, where it is increasingly common to give importance to the process in the face of results, cooperative work is strengthened and value the effort to acquire an improvement.
