Abstract

In the school context, tests carried out to evaluate quantitative aspects of the motor condition are common. However, the evaluation of qualitative aspects of it is not so frequent. The objective was to know the use of the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) battery for the evaluation of qualitative aspects related to the quality of motor patterns in school environment. A search was made in the database of Web of Science, Sport Discus, Scopus, Pubmed and Google Scholar of articles in English and Spanish published between 2005 and 2020 using the descriptors: FMS, movement quality, asessment, children and teenager. Thirteen articles met the established criteria. The results show controversy between different authors when comparing the data obtained in the test according to the gender, as well as its posible utility as an injury predictor. It is concluded that 12 of 13 publications confirm the validity of the FMS battery to assess and evaluate the quality of movement in teenagers.
