Abstract

Wine tourism has emerged as a transformative force within the wine industry, combining wine culture, gastronomy and authenticity. The aim of this article is to explore the impact of the Spanish wine tourism sector on sustainability and organisational innovation. Focusing on the case of Bodegas Franco-Españolas, the research uses a qualitative approach to show how wine tourism can improve local economy, society and environment, and highlights the need for a holistic understanding of the effects of this type of tourism on sustainability and innovation. The case study acts as a microcosm of these dynamics, providing practical and political perspectives for the wine industry and public institutions to promote and protect wine tourism in order to achieve sustainable, innovative growth.
