The Feminist Movement and Education in Galicia: 1970-1990
Main Article Content
Abstract
In order to shed light on the spaces and areas related to education and the logic behind the transformation of learning models and contents, this article focuses on an analysis of the network of relations generated by the activity of feminist organizations carried out in Galicia from 1970 to 1990. According to the hypothesis put forth here, these networks served to coordinate criticism, proposals and strategies which insisted particularly on the need to rethink and change the struggle against the processes of exclusion, discrimination and social injustice inherent to relations marked by dominance between sexes, genders and sexualities. These proposals did not limit education to the confines of academic spaces; rather the aim was that they be applied on internal and external levels, in the personal domain, as well as in the organizations themselves and in all areas and fields where social relations take place.
