Abstract

What follows is the complete and restored interview, on April 1, 1996, with the Mexican writer Octavio Paz (born March 31, 1914, died April 19, 1998), which took place in the library of his apartment in Paseo de la Reforma, Mexico City where he lived. An English translation was published in The Miami Herald in abridged form on Sunday April 14 (see the link below*). The original Spanish was published in El Nuevo Herald (the Spanish publication of The Miami Herald Company) in a two part series: on Sunday, April 7 and on Monday, April 8.
