Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) have become a promising tool for neurorehabilitation. Among the most widely used control
paradigms in this context is motor imagery, due to its ability to activate cortical areas related to movement. However, the need for
prior user training and the associated cost can hinder its practical clinical application. With this in mind, a low-cost system based
on a motor imagery-controlled video game has been developed, designed for autonomous use at home, promoting both training
in BCI usage and active participation in the rehabilitation process. The system was experimentally validated with two control
subjects, with mean accuracies of 69% and 80% during validation. Both successfully completed the game sessions, suggesting
that the use of the video game may positively contribute to the rehabilitation process, offering an accessible and motivating
complement to clinical routines.
