Environmental education for resilient cities and climate change: the role of fish in the university for the formation of sustainable communities in the State of Paraná, Brazil

The exercise of Environmental Education (EA) and in Civil Protection and Defense (PDC), together with the establishment of public policies is an important pedagogical space for the development of citizen awareness in individuals and in society, it must take place in relation to issues local social and environmental factors, strengthening the power of communities, giving them instruments that help them to plan, manage and implement their alternatives to current social and environmental policies. PDC has been restructuring over the years. In this process, the participation of the State is fundamental. EA and PDC is a dimension of education, in an educational process that aims to train ethical citizens in their relations with society and with nature. Through the dialogues established between EA and PDC with public policies, integrating the Brazilian Universities, the University Centers for Disaster Studies and Research (CEPED) were created, which aim to promote the training of human resources for prevention, reduction, disaster mitigation, response and reconstruction; Environmental Education in search of resilient cities; promote the training of human resources in all social segments, through lectures, seminars, symposia, specializations and research production seeking a culture of social participation and environmental preservation, sustainable development, PDC, thus contributing to the formation of citizens committed to sustainability of the planet.
