The Sustainability project: from school to river has as a guideline to promote the recognition of the multiple relationships established in the hydrographic basin of urban rivers based on the articulation between students, teachers and professionals in the sanitation area. With actions to monitor rivers close to the schools and evidence of the socio-environmental reality in the surrounding areas, practices are carried out that contribute to the preservation of the quality of these water bodies. The initial motivation for carrying out the project was the mobilizing character of the practice provided for in its methodology the participation of the company, state and technical schools in the environment and the local community. Therefore, it is an integrated action, which unites the state and society, with the objective of disseminating the concept of sustainability, demonstrating how it can be applied to the quality and conservation of water resources and, in particular, to urban rivers. For this study, the proposals and the results of the actions developed between 2013 and 2014 were analyzed. Reports from follow-up trips to the actions in the interior of the state with socio-environmental managers and members of the school communities were also analyzed.
