Critical environmental education and the right to communication

This research has as spatial cut the region of the Campos Basin - State of Rio de Janeiro / BR, whose exploration and production of oil and gas cause great socioenvironmental impact. These private ventures coordinate environmental education projects to mitigate these impacts. And they are part of the Environmental Education Program managed by IBAMA - Brazilian Institute of Environment. These projects are part of the conditions for environmental licensing and are regulated in Technical Note 01/10 of CGPEG / Dilic (General Coordination of Oil and Gas / Directorate of Environmental Licensing of IBAMA). Faced with the opportunity to observe how Environmental Education expands its potential to subsidize citizen emancipation, we see the same thing to boost the fight for the rights of communication. We will relate theoretical knowledge and the experience of the authors in the militancy of the struggles for rights. We can say that this work is the result of Action-Reflection and we will address the communication practices worked on in some of the environmental education projects in the Campos Basin region. Going beyond understanding communication processes as a means of disseminating works, but as spaces for construction and awareness.
