Abstract

This work seeks to understand how and in what circumstances one learns in a Ecovila, how the learning proposals are articulated in the context of courses, experiences and immersions in these communities, trying to attack elements of a New Age spirituality that are part of the process or production of a single community. relationship between living beings and sacred. As Ecovilas are communities that aim to integrate an environment with low environmental impact, adding ecological design, Permaculture, clean energy, etc. In this context, the New Age spirituality has striking characteristics: interest in the religiões da magnetência - as traditional oriental traditions -, possess a strong appeal to conhecimento and imply a strong relationship between nature and sacred. Also, it appears related to the search for an environmentally oriented way of inhabiting the world that tends to postulate more symmetrical relationships between humans and other beings. São presented here are the preliminary results of ethnographic immersion in an Ecovila do Sul do Brasil, which show a tendency to learn through practice, based on the presence of elements of New Age spirituality in the construction of meanings for the world.
