Immersive cartography in arts-based research. A case study in the Poble Sec neighbourhood in Barcelona
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article is an approach to different issues in relation to the research based on arts and architecture, developed in the Poble Sec neighbourhood (Barcelona, Spain). This neighbourhood had the feeling of losing the cohesion of the network relationship it had had before. The project was to investigate and explore this feeling and to draw the current local network. The research objectives focus on the possibilities of architectural language and cartography as tools for arts-based research. Subjective cartography and network drift were used for data creation. The result was a map that unfolded in three dimensions providing a deeper and more complex understanding of the initial research problem, revealing issues linked to citizenship and ways of cohabitating.
