Abstract

This paper analyzes the impact of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) on industrial automation education through a project integrating CODESYS and Factory IO. The results demonstrate that, given the low technical robustness of the PLC control code generated by generic language models, mandatory validation through simulation forces students to assume a critical supervisory role. This process acts as a cognitive scaffolding that effectively reinforces the understanding of the discipline’s core concepts.
