Incidencias de la pandemia en infantes y adolescentes: incremento del tiempo frente a pantallas y disminución de la actividad física

El regreso a la nueva normalidad ha modificado los estilos de vida de los infantes y adolescentes a nivel mundial, la escuela, la familia y los profesores de educación física requieren repensar sobre el papel esencial de masificar la actividad física y controlar el tiempo frente a las pantallas de los estudiantes. En esa línea se planteó como objetivo analizar las incidencias de la pandemia en infantes y adolescentes en el incremento del tiempo frente a pantallas y disminución de la actividad física durante los años 2020-2022. La metodología: se desarrolló una revisión sistemática aplicando el protocolo PRISMA y se buscaron en la base de datos de Pubmed, Scopus y Sciencedirect. En la cual un total de 14 estudios cumplieron los criterios finales de inclusión. Los resultados de esta revisión mostraron una disminución de la actividad física y un aumento exagerado del tiempo frente a las pantallas, además de generar otras enfermedades como el sedentarismo, somnolencia, sueño irregular, mala alimentación, sobrepeso, obesidad diabetes y enfermedades cardiovasculares. Así mismos niveles altos de actividad física y menos tiempo frente a las pantallas se asociaron como protectores de salud en los infantes y adolescentes. Se concluye que es esencial generar esfuerzos conjuntos donde los encargados de diseñar políticas apoderados de familia, profesionales de salud, educación física, directivos de escuelas y sociedad desarrollen estrategias de intervención sostenibles y operativas para atenuar las secuelas de la pandemia y de esa manera prevenir resultados negativos para la salud en la etapa adulta de esta población.
