Resumen

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar los niveles subjetivos de actividad física y aptitud física, así como la determinación (grit) de los estudiantes de una universidad estatal, y examinar el impacto de la determinación en la percepción de la actividad física y la aptitud física. Se seleccionaron aleatoriamente trescientos noventa estudiantes (239 hombres y 151 mujeres), representando diversas características demográficas durante el primer semestre del año académico 2024–2025. La determinación se midió utilizando la Escala Breve de Grit (Grit-S), la actividad física subjetiva se evaluó con el Cuestionario Internacional de Actividad Física (IPAQ) y los niveles subjetivos de aptitud física se analizaron a través de la Escala de Autopercepción de la Aptitud Física. Los datos se recopilaron mediante Google Forms y se analizaron utilizando regresión lineal múltiple con SPSS versión 30. El análisis reveló que la determinación no predijo significativamente los Metabolic Equivalent Tasks para todos los encuestados (p = 0.911, R² = 0.000), mujeres (p = 0.602, R² = 0.002) ni hombres (p = 0.773, R² = 0.000). Para las dimensiones morfológica, fuerza muscular, motora y cardiovascular, se observaron relaciones significativas solo en hombres, con valores de p de 0.006 (R² = 0.031), 0.025 (R² = 0.021), 0.024 (R² = 0.021) y 0.001 (R² = 0.043), respectivamente. Los resultados revelaron que la determinación no predice los niveles subjetivos de actividad física, pero influye negativamente en las percepciones de composición corporal, habilidades motoras y aptitud cardiovascular de los hombres, sin influencia significativa en las mujeres. Estos resultados sugieren que la determinación no es un predictor universal de actividad física o aptitud física, y que factores como la autoeficacia, la motivación y el apoyo social desempeñan roles más significativos. Investigaciones futuras deberían abordar los sesgos en las medidas autoinformadas, emplear herramientas objetivas y explorar dinámicas específicas de género en la autopercepción física.
