Percepción de la actividad física vs. aptitud física real: un estudio comparativo en estudiantes de pathfit 1

Resumen
El estudio tiene como objetivo investigar la actividad física subjetiva como un predictor de la aptitud física relacionada con la salud seleccionada. El estudio incluyó a 362 estudiantes universitarios de una universidad estatal en Filipinas, compuestos por 199 hombres y 243 mujeres. Los encuestados fueron seleccionados mediante una combinación de muestreo estratificado y aleatorio. Se les pidió a los encuestados que completaran el Cuestionario Internacional de Actividad Física (IPAQ), que fue el instrumento utilizado para cuantificar la actividad física subjetiva. Además, se recopilaron los datos de aptitud física del curso PatHFit 1, al cual pertenecían los participantes. En cuanto a los componentes seleccionados de la aptitud física relacionada con la salud, la flexibilidad se midió mediante una prueba de "sit-and-reach". La resistencia muscular se cuantificó utilizando tres pruebas de aptitud: una prueba de flexiones de un minuto, una prueba de plancha y una prueba de sentadilla contra la pared. Por último, se utilizó una prueba de escalones de tres minutos para cuantificar la resistencia cardiovascular de los encuestados. Tras recopilar los datos necesarios para la investigación, se utilizó la regresión lineal para el análisis de los datos. El estudio encontró que las evaluaciones de actividad física subjetiva, utilizando el IPAQ predijeron de manera efectiva la resistencia muscular y la flexibilidad. En cuanto a la especificidad de sexo, los niveles de actividad física subjetiva influyeron notablemente en la resistencia de la parte superior del cuerpo y del núcleo en los hombres. Sin embargo, solo la resistencia muscular se vio afectada en las mujeres. Los hallazgos resaltan la necesidad de estudios adicionales utilizando varias evaluaciones de aptitud física para validar los resultados del estudio y explorar la relación más amplia entre la actividad percibida y la aptitud física en ambos géneros.
