Fibromyalgia is a chronic disorder characterised by widespread musculoskeletal pain and increased sensitivity at specific points on the body. It is often accompanied by fatigue, sleep disturbances, and cognitive and emotional difficulties, which negatively impacts the quality of life of sufferers. The aim of this review was to assess the effects of different types of physical training on sleep quality, pain perception and quality of life in adult women diagnosed with fibromyalgia. For this purpose, we considered randomised controlled clinical trials published between 2019 and 2024 in the English language, available in the PUBMED and SCOPUS electronic databases. The initial search yielded a total of 56 articles, of which 19 met the established inclusion and exclusion criteria. Subsequently, the Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) scale was applied to assess the methodological quality of the selected studies. The results included 12 articles covering a total of 611 participants and analysing 7 types of physical training. Among all interventions compared, resistance training was the most widely implemented as management for fibromyalgia. However, it is noted that different types of physical exercise, provided they are planned and supervised, also contribute significantly to alleviating symptoms and improving the general well-being of fibromyalgia patients.
