Abstract

Salceda de Caselas nos tempos da emigración a América, presents a micro-analysis of migration based on a meticulous collection of oral history, photographs, letters and other family documents, which reflect and illustrate aspects of the phenomenon such as demography, economic activity and local socio-political dynamics between the end of the nineteenth century and the middle of the twentieth century. The authors’ diligent research and careful analysis is complemented by a rich selection of photographs and documents showing how families and communities lived at the time.
