Resumen

El presente estudio da cuenta de las principales características psicométricas del Inventario Motivacional para la Formación Docente (IMFD), instrumento que permite caracterizar el perfil de ingreso a pedagogía en términos motivacionales. Este instrumento posibilita, a la vez, el seguimiento posterior del alumnado en este conjunto de variables. La validación se realizó en una muestra de estudiantes de magisterio (n = 764) de ambos sexos pertenecientes a siete universidades de cinco regiones de Chile. La validez del instrumento fue corroborada a través de análisis factorial confirmatorio, mientras que la confiabilidad se verificó tanto a través del cálculo de confiabilidad compuesta, como de alfa de Cronbach. Los resultados muestran buenos índices psicométricos tanto en la validez como en la confiabilidad de las distintas escalas. Finalmente, se discute la utilidad de contar con un instrumento de este tipo como contribución al perfil de ingreso y del seguimiento motivacional del profesorado en formación.
