Relación entre afinidad a la diversidad y tipos de intervención en alumnado universitario ciberespectador

El ciberacoso es un problema de salud pública con efectos nocivos en la salud mental y física de las víctimas. La literatura muestra que los espectadores juegan un rol importante en el ciberacoso ya que pueden incentivar o disuadir dicha conducta. El objetivo del estudio fue analizar la relación de la afinidad a la diversidad con los tipos de intervención de espectadores de ciberacoso. Participaron 398 estudiantes universitarios (58% del sexo femenino) con edades de entre 18 y 30 años (Medad = 20.36, DE = 2.31) del noroeste de México. Se emplearon escalas de autoreporte para medir la afinidad a la diversidad y la conducta alentadora y prosocial de los espectadores en el ciberacoso. Los resultados sugieren que la afinidad a la diversidad se asocia de forma positiva con la conducta defensiva de las víctimas y negativa con la alentadora de la agresión de espectadores de ciberacoso. Además, se encontró una mayor afinidad por la diversidad y una mayor frecuencia de conductas defensivas en las estudiantes mujeres, en comparación con los estudiantes varones. En los varones fueron significativamente mayores las conductas alentadoras de la agresión. Se concluyó que es necesario diseñar programas que promuevan la apreciación de las diferencias sociales, culturales y económicas en el contexto universitario para conductas prosociales en los espectadores de ciberacoso.
