Motivational Inventory for Teacher Training: Contribution to the motivational characterization of pre-service teachers
##plugins.themes.bootstrap3.article.main##
Abstract
The present study shows the main psychometric characteristics of an inventory that allows for characterizing a set of motivational variables during pedagogical training. This inventory provides valid and reliable measures in a series of relevant variables when characterizing the enrollment profile in teacher programs and their subsequent evolution. The validation was carried out in a sample of preservice teachers of both sexes (n = 764) from seven public and private universities in five regions of Chile. The validity analysis of the instrument was carried out through confirmatory factor analysis, while the reliability analysis was carried out through composite reliability and Cronbach's alpha. The results show a good psychometrics index in terms of both the validity and reliability of the different scales. Finally, we discuss the usefulness of having an instrument of this type as a contribution to preservice teachers' entry profile and motivational follow-up.
