Abstract
This work is part of a broader descriptive study based on academic achievement, carried out in 18 Primary Schools of the Autonomous Community of Galicia. We focus on the students who repeat and in the academic achievements in three different subjects. To establish the determinants of academic performance we use a number of variables focused on their sociodemographic and academic characteristics and a set of scales, Likert type. Once registered the reliability indices for each of the scales, we proceeded to investigate its predictive ability on academic results in each of the three selected subjects. We hope finding two types of results: record whether the final grades are dependent upon various factors as that submitted material, and observe the general determinants of academic achievement for the students who repeat.
