Escala de preconceito sexual no esporte: tradução e análise psicométrica

Resumo

Este estudo apresenta a tradução e validação inicial da Escala de Preconceito Sexual no Esporte (SPSS) para uso no Brasil e em Portugal. A escala contém 19 itens e está organizada em 3 subescalas: Rejeição Aberta, Negação de Visibilidade e Desempenho de Gênero. Participaram do estudo 618 estudantes universitários atletas (348 brasileiros e 270 portugueses), que responderam a um questionário sociodemográfico, à SPSS e à Escala Multidimensional de Atitudes em Relação a Lésbicas e Gays (EMAFLG). Foram realizadas análises fatoriais confirmatórias, testes de confiabilidade, de validade convergente e discriminante, e uma avaliação de invariância entre os países. As subescalas Rejeição Aberta e Desempenho de Gênero apresentaram propriedades psicométricas adequadas em ambos os países. No entanto, a subescala Negação de Visibilidade apresentou problemas de validade discriminante, especialmente na amostra brasileira. As correlações com a Escala Multidimensional de Atitudes em Relação a Lésbicas e Gays (EMAFLG) monstraram validade convergente satisfatória. Foram observadas diferenças significativas nos níveis de preconceito entre os países, com escores mais elevados em Portugal. Conclui-se que há evidências preliminares positivas sobre as qualidades psicométricas da SPSS, sobretudo em Portugal.
