Abstract

Se procura explorar las relaciones entre la ansiedad matemática (AM) de estudiantes de primer año de Química y sexo, carrera y rendimiento. Se utilizó el cuestionario Short Mathematics Anxiety Rating Scale (SMARS), cuyas medidas arrojaron una estructura tridimensionalidad de la ansiedad. Se realizaron ANOVA, t-Student y correlaciones de Pearson (α=.05). Los hombres presentan mayor AM. La carrera, el número de veces que reprobó el examen de matemática y el total de exámenes perdidos están relacionados con distintos componentes de la ansiedad. Es necesario profundizar  para una mayor comprensión de estas relaciones.
